Welcome to Wagging Tails Ironbridge.

Where every dog is treated like part of the family!

We're a passionate doggy daycare dedicated to providing a safe, stimulating, and enriching environment for your beloved canine companion.

Here, your pup will enjoy a day packed with fun, socialisation, and exercise, all under the watchful eye of our loving and experienced caregivers.

Daycare Information and Boundary Setting.

At Wagging Tails, we believe in creating a harmonious environment for

all our canine guests. To ensure the safety and happiness of every dog in

our care, we adhere to a strict set of rules and guidelines:

Safety First:

All dogs must be up to date on their core vaccinations (Leptospirosis,

Adenovirus, Parvovirus and Canine Distemper) and Kennel Cough, and

free from parasites and contagious diseases. (NOTE: Two weeks needs to

have elapsed after their most recent vaccinations.)

Behavioural Standards:

We welcome dogs of all shapes and sizes, provided they display non-

aggressive behaviours towards other dogs and humans.

Regulars Only:

To foster strong bonds and a predictable environment, Wagging Tails operates on a regulars-only basis. This means we prioritise providing a stable and familiar atmosphere for our established dog community. For this reason, we are currently unable to accept ad-hoc bookings from new dogs. If you're interested in joining our Wagging Tails family, please inquire about our enrolment process!

Group Integration:

Dogs are assessed and grouped based on their size, play style, and temperament to ensure a positive daycare experience.

More than just play

We believe in a balanced approach to doggy daycare. While playtime is certainly a pawsitive part of the day, it's just one piece of the puzzle.

Here's what your pup can expect with us:

Structured Activities

Supervised games and playtime allow your pup to unleash their playful

energy, bond with friends, and develop important social skills.

Socialisation with Confidence

Tail wags and happy barks abound as your pup interacts with other well-

socialised dogs in a safe and controlled environment. This fosters

confidence and positive canine connections.

Rest & Relaxation

Just like humans, dogs need downtime! We provide cozy nap areas

where your pup can recharge after a day of exciting adventures. This

prevents overstimulation and ensures they return home happy and

relaxed.

Why is Balance Important?

Think of a day at Wagging Tails like a well-rounded meal – it needs all the

essential ingredients! Unstructured playtime can lead to overstimulation,

triggering unwanted behaviours. Rest periods ensure your pup

decompresses and enjoys a truly positive experience. By providing a

balance of activity and relaxation, we create a happy and healthy

environment for all our furry guests.

Ensuring a happy ‘pack’

At Wagging Tails, we prioritise a safe and enjoyable experience for all our furry guests. To ensure this, we have established some boundaries:

Bitches-in-Season:

Common sense and our licensing conditions both rightly dictate that we

do not accept bitches-in season. As a rule, two weeks needs to elapse

after a bitch has finished presenting any visual signs before they can

resume attending day care.

BSL, Wolf Hybrids and banned breeds:

We do not accept BSL/wolf hybrids or banned breeds.

Intact Males:

Due to safety concerns, we cannot accommodate intact males over 12

months old.

Aggressive Behaviour

Any history of aggression towards humans or other dogs will require

further assessment before enrolment. But to manage expectations, it’s

often a ‘no’

While doggy daycare offers numerous benefits, it's important to remember it's not a perfect fit for every dog. We take a holistic approach, considering not just your dog's needs but also their temperament, medical history, and overall comfort level. It's about ensuring a positive experience for all our furry guests – your pup, their

playmates, and our staff.

Matching Personalities and Ensuring Safety

Think of Wagging Tails as a doggy social club! Just like people, some dogs thrive in group settings, while others prefer a quieter environment. We carefully assess each applicant's behaviour, temperament, and play style to ensure a good fit with our existing pack. This ensures a safe and enjoyable environment for

everyone.

Honesty is Key - Daycare might not be the right answer

We understand that leaving your furry friend can be tough, and you might be looking for daycare as a solution for boredom or behavioural issues. However, daycare is not a substitute for professional training or the assistance of a behaviourist. In some cases, it might not be the best fit for your pup. For instance, if your dog experiences:

Separation anxiety: Daycare can exacerbate anxiety, so one-on-one training might be a better option.

Behavioural challenges: Dogs with aggression or resource guarding issues might benefit more from individual training before joining group play.

Declining Applications - It’s not about you!

It's important to understand that if we decline an application, it's not a reflection on you or your beloved pup.

Our priority is to create a safe and harmonious environment for all our guests. Sometimes, the best fit for your dog might be a different type of care, like pet

sitting or individual walks.

Open Communication - working together

We believe in open communication. During our meet-and-greet, we'll discuss your dog's needs and answer any questions you may have. We'll also be honest about whether daycare is the right fit for your furry friend.

Our goal is to find the best solution for your dog's well-being and happiness.

Why Choose Wagging Tails Ironbridge?

Here are some reasons why dog parents choose Wagging Tails Ironbridge:

Combat Boredom: Does your pup spend long hours alone, leading to destructive behaviour or excessive barking?

Daycare provides an outlet for energy and mental stimulation. But not if these

behaviours are already ingrained.

Socialisation is Key: Well-socialised dogs are more confident and adaptable. Daycare offers a safe and controlled environment for pups to interact and learn valuable social skills. But day care is not the place to socialise a dog; it needs to begin long

before day care.

Exercise for a Healthy Life: Regular exercise promotes physical and mental well-being. Daycare ensures your pup gets the daily activity they need.
